Trusted Editorial content, reviewed by leading industry experts and seasoned editors. Ad Disclosure Traders watching Bitcoin climb alongside US software stocks last week may have drawn the wrong conclusion. According to NYDIG, a financial services company focused on Bitcoin, the visual parallel is misleading. Only about 25% of BTC price movement can be traced back to its relationship with equity markets. The remaining 75% is driven by forces that have nothing to do with the S&P 500 or the Nasdaq. Greg Cipolaro, head of research at NYDIG, made the case in a Friday note. His argument: when Bitcoin and software…

The banking industry has more to gain from the stalled U.S. Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, a bill aimed at regulating digital assets, than the crypto industry, according to Christopher Giancarlo, a former chairman of the country’s Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).”The banks need this more than crypto,” Giancarlo told Scott Melker on Sunday’s Wolf Of All Streets podcast. “Their general counsels are telling their boards: You can’t invest billions of dollars to build these digital rails unless you’ve got regulatory certainty. Banks can’t afford regulatory uncertainty.”The bill has been deadlocked since January, with crypto companies, including Coinbase CEO Brian…

In a March 6 video update, the Cardano founder said the plan was initially working with the equivalent of about $58 million in value from 70 million ADA, but that figure has since dropped to about $18 million. The week-long war between Iran, the U.S., and Israel has pushed oil prices on both sides of the Atlantic past $100 a barrel, threatening to inject inflation into the global economy. Asian markets are taking a hit, bond yields are climbing, and yet bitcoin BTC$67,316.44 has barely budged, hovering around $67,000, where it was 24 hours ago.A likely reason? Bitcoin’s strong links to Wall Street. Since the conflict started last week, U.S. stocks have held up relatively well compared to Asian and European equities, probably benefiting from America’s position as a net oil exporter. Bitcoin, which closely tracks U.S. tech…
